Children's Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates, LLP, purpose is to provide pediatric orthopaedic care to children in West Central Florida. Care is provided by physicians with outstanding credentials, backed by board certification, and pediatric fellowships. Care is focused on the individual patient needs with an "easy to do business approach" through compassionate, superior care, based on integrity and innovative approaches. Services are provided through referrals from primary care physicians within the network of contracted of healthcare organizations.

Paul L. Benfanti, M.D has joined the orthopaedic surgery program at All Children’s Hospital and Children’s Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates, LLP.

Paul L. Benfanti, M.D. graduated from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD in 1990. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center Ft. Gordon, GA in 1997 and a Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics and Spinal Deformity at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Greenville, SC in 2001. He recently retired from the US Army as a Colonel. During his career he served as Orthopedic Surgery Program Director from 2003-2009 and Chief, Orthopedic Surgery from 2010-2011 at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, WA. Paul is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society and the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America. Dr. Benfanti enjoys all aspects of pediatric orthopedics and has a special interest in sports medicine and hip preservation. Jeffrey B. Neustadt, M.D. has been selected for Best Doctors in America since 1996. Since 1991, he has been an Affiliate Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Pediatrics at the University of South Florida School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine. His orthopaedic residency training was at The University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. He did a pediatric orthopaedic and scoliosis surgery fellowship at The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Before coming to St. Petersburg, Dr Neustadt was an instructor in Orthopaedic Surgery at Georgetown University in 1990 and 1991. He was an oral examiner for the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) in 2004 and again in 2005. He is a Fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society and is currently conducting research projects in scoliosis surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, The Southern Orthopaedic Association, the Florida Orthopaedic Society, and the Pinellas and Hillsborough County Medical Societies.

Scott W. Beck, M.D. has been named continuously in Best Doctors in America since 2003. He has been an Affiliate Assistant Professor at USF, School of Medicine, Department of Orthopedic Surgery since 1998. Dr. Beck received his medical degree from the University of Utah. After finishing his surgery internship at UC San Francisco, he went on to complete a residency in orthopaedic surgery from Creighton-Nebraska Universities Health Foundation in Omaha. Dr. Beck completed his pediatric orthopaedic fellowship at San Diego Children's Hospital. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. Dr. Beck is also currently the Chairman of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Gregory V. Hahn, M.D. has been selected for the honor of Best Doctors in America since 2003. He has the honor of being named in America's Top Surgeons in 2005 and 2006. He is Affiliate Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Pediatrics at the University of South Florida School of Medicine and is currently Chief of Staff at All Children's Hospital in Saint Petersburg, FL. He received a B.A. from the University of Virginia and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He stayed at the University of Pennsylvania for his orthopaedic residency training and completed his pediatric orthopaedic fellowship at San Diego Children's Hospital. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Florida Orthopaedic Society and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and his special interest is scoliosis.

Drew E. Warnick, M.D. is a board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and pediatric sports medicine. He graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL, followed by a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and pediatric sports medicine at the Atlanta Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Dr. Warnick was awarded the Charles M. Schwartz traveling fellowship and studied at the Adidas Sports Medicine Clinic in Auckland, New Zealand after finishing his fellowship. Dr. Warnick’s is a member of several organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and Health Volunteers Overseas. He has authored book chapters, peer reviewed publications and has conducted regional and national presentations. Dr. Warnick brings a new area of expertise to our practice. His interests include pediatric and adolescent sports medicine and problems of the hip in adolescents and young adults. His specialized training included arthroscopic surgery of the hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, and ankle. He is trained in hip preservation techniques, including those amenable to treatment with surgical dislocation of the hip and Ganz periacetabular osteotomy. Dr. Warnick has served as a team and event physician for both Loyola and Lewis University. His recent research includes measuring strain in the individual ACL bundles under large quadriceps forces and the arthroscopic treatment of multidirectional shoulder instability in young athletes. He is on staff at All Children’s Hospital in St Petersburg and St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa.

He was President of his 2005 graduating class and helped organize efforts in raising more than $10,000 for charities such as Toys For Tots, Bea Gaddy's Foundation for the Homeless and Adopt a Family. Cody was raised in St. Petersburg and graduated with his Bachelor's degree from University of South Florida.

Sheila Spencer is from Vanceburg, Kentucky. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Morehead State University. She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received a Bachelor's degree in Surgical Physician Assistant Studies.

Kristen Winne

Kristen Winne, PA-C, MMS, graduated from Nova Southeastern University's Physician's Assistant program in Fort Lauderdale. She attended the University of Central Florida as an undergrad, where she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Biological and Physical Sciences. Kristen was brought up in Cocoa Beach on the East coast of Florida, and worked in General Pediatrics in rural Sebring, Florida before moving to St. Pete. She is excited to be here and looks forward to combining her pediatric experience with orthopaedics and surgery.

Cara is a Certified Physician's Assistant as well as a Certified Athletic Trainer. She is originally from Michigan. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Athletic Training and received her Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. She previously worked in spine surgery for three years in Dallas, TX, before joining us.

Sarah Green, PA-C, graduated from Nova Southeastern University’s Physician’s Assistant program in Ft. Lauderdale. She attended the University of South Florida as an undergrad, where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Bio-Medical Science. Sarah was brought up in New Port Richey, FL. This is her first job as a Physician Assistant and she is excited to be here.
