My approach to treating patients

Painful conditions involving the spine are very common affecting most people in their lifetimes. I am the first and only dual Board certified (spine surgery and orthopaedic surgery), fellowship trained Spine Surgeon in San Diego county. These unique qualifications allow me to utilize new technology as well as time proven techniques appropriately. I take an interactive and cooperative approach to caring for my patients. I believe that the most important aspects of providing quality care include listening to the needs of my patients. Patient education is essential in order to optimize outcomes. Surgical intervention is a treatment of last resort, when nonoperative techniques fail to relieve symptoms. I believe that a strong and open relationship between the patient and surgeon is the key to practicing good medicine. I look forward to having the opportunity and privilege of working with you with the goal of achieving your best possible spinal health. I specialize in all areas of spinal surgery as well as pain management including epidurals, foramenal injections, facet blocks and sacroiliac joint injections.
