    The Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) was founded in 1954 and supports, develops and encourages research in orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal diseases.     This prized surgical instrument makes it possible for Dr. Grimes to perform truly minimally invasive total hip replacement utilizing the anterior approach. With this approach, no muscles are detached from the pelvis or femur. The PROfx table is also useful for hip arthroscopy.

  • Subvastus Approach to the Knee
    This abstract describes research which compared the muscle-sparing subvastus surgical approach to the knee with the standard incision through the muscle. The subvastus approach had significant benefits in terms of less pain and blood loss and earlier recovery of strength and range of motion.

  • UniSpacer Knee Information
    The UniSpacer is a unique implant which provides a conservative treatment for early forms of osteoarthritis of the knee. The UniSpacer is installed on the inner (medial) aspect of the knee. The UniSpacer restores a smooth bearing surface to the knee and helps correct alignment problems.

My assistant, Heidi Mitchell, is an important member of our team. She will be ready to facilitate the scheduling of your procedure and to help coordinate your postoperative care. This may include involving your primary care physician or occasionally hospitalists or intensivists.

My office manager, Rina Fann, will be happy to assist you with any insurance or administrative questions.

My two practice partners, Brian Brenner, M.D. and Michael McCabe, M.D., both have subspecialty fellowship training and are Board Certified. If you are in the hospital on weekends or while I am at a seminar, Dr. Brenner or Dr. McCabe may be following your progress.
