My approach to treating patients

I have had twenty eight years of experience as an arthroscopic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, serving as team physician for the 1994 US Olympic ice hockey team, the NHL Hartford Whalers, and the AHL Hartford Wolfpack. Having performed over 10,000 arthroscopic surgeries, I believe in minimally invasive care of patients, using nonoperative and arthroscopic methods whenever possible. I also have a particular expertise in the treatment of patients with patellofemoral problems, meniscus, anterior cruciate ligament, and rotator cuff tears. I repair most knee and shoulder problems arthroscopically. My goal is to provide the best possible care for each patient, emphasizing accurate physical examination and the newest and best methods of diagnosis and treatment. I accept new patients with documented tears of the meniscus, ACL, or rotator cuff. I also accept patients for surgical consultation and repair of the patellofemoral joint. I do not do joint replacement surgery or treat advanced knee or shoulder arthritis.
